Viz Reporter is a professional-grade video recording and transfer tool designed for journalism professionals seeking efficient real-time content sharing. It enables users to stream live over cellular or Wi-Fi networks or to submit breaking news footage and immediate updates directly into the video production workflow via their iPhone devices. The application requires connection to a Viz Media Engine - Online server, which can be hosted either as a cloud instance or on-premises.

Users can operate the app to utilize their iPhone’s camera and microphone for live streaming or for uploading still images, video clips, and audio recordings accompanied by relevant metadata. This facilitates seamless integration with newsroom systems and expedites news delivery.

Key functionalities include support for geo-tagging, video trimming, and an advanced resumption feature that allows interrupted or cancelled uploads to continue once connectivity is restored, addressing challenges associated with limited network conditions.

Content uploaded to the Viz Media Engine - Online server can be immediately integrated into an SDI workflow, distributed for online publishing, archived for future use, or exported to other production systems, thereby enhancing operational flexibility.
